Forced cooling

The oil from the cooler goes to the filter from memory, and I will do as much as I can upside down so it falls out, makes more sense to me than returning it to China and waiting for another.

Yes, it goes back to the filter and yes, it makes more sense than waiting another month or so! :)

I'm not good with Math, so I've measured the fin area and got 145x 55 for OEM and 185 x 61 for this one that has the wrong ports.
I'm coming up with an incredible 41.5 percent increase and I think I may have missed read my scribbling

So assuming the Math is correct as it has not been challenged!

I drilled and Tapped the Ports to 12mm x 1.25 and ordered a new one just in case I make a mess of it,

Which not that surprisingly did occur forcing me to cut one thread 1/4 NPT ( more contamination ) which has also committed it to being fitted in one specific orientation.

Lucky I ordered the second Cooler:) By the time I get hose and now a NPT fitting it will be half way here, last one took about 2 and a half weeks;)

Just measured the radiator that has just arrived.
Fin area is 185x105. That's a whopping 140% increase! :)

I guess now I have to find a way to WARM the engine... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

PS. Just checked the connection, I got lucky and the sent they right M12 one! :)

Disregard the Factory recommended Oil Quantity :giggle:

Frame Weight reduction! to allow clearance for the lower fitting.IMG_20230302_101020_resized_20230302_104423497.jpg

Cooler is high enough to enable the Inspection plug to be removed for Timing Marks to be observed.IMG_20230302_103051_resized_20230302_104424366.jpg

Okay I realize that the Angle is not optimal, but with 40% extra area and the extra Oil capacity I should still be in front.

Now to finish off the Hoses and see how neat they can be done! :giggle:

First hose done second is half done, starting to wonder about the Banjo fittings and Banjo bolts, is the flow enough.
OEM has a inbuilt restriction by way of the twisted hose. IMG_20230302_113700.jpg

It is fitted and does not look out of place whether it is any better than OEM I can only guess.

of course the 443 does not have this function, oil coo3must be removed first.

If anyone needs the info I have gained they only need to ask.

I'm asking! Peter would you happen to have a Parts List with #'s to order off of AliExpress? I'm thinking that a 40% increase in size coupled with a Spal Fan ought to beat the heat here, so if I can obtain all the bits necessary I'll copy you.
Bob

No problems Bob, I will generate my list.
My system does involve a bit of grinding the make the lower fitting clear the frame, can be done with a round file ( chocolate is not too hard!).

1. Cooler, you should choose the 12mmx 1.25 x1
2. Banjo Bolt is also 12x1.25' get the washers as well !! x1

works for me ! this is the description, "M12 P1.25 M12 * 1.25 M12 x 1.25 Banjo bolt brake Adapter adaptor tpfe ptfe brake hose fitting"

then you need Hose ends,

They are AN ( Army Navy ) fittings and it is AN-6 Hose I am using.
You need 2 for the Engine and 2 for the cooler, easy way is 14mm banjo hose ends at the engine and 1 of 12mm banjo hose end at the cooler at the top and a straight AN-6 hose end going to the bottom of the cooler where you need a 12mmx1.25 to AN6 fitting, comes with an O ring.

2 of these for the engine.

Only 1 of these for the top of the cooler.

This Nipple is the bottom of the cooler. "aluminum male M12 P1.25 M12 * 1.25 M12 x 1.25 to -6an an6 an 6 male adaptor adapter Fitting black"

That is the last fitting AN6 you want the straight one.

1 M of hose is enough for two bikes, or a few attempts at making hoses etc and probably the minimum anyhow :giggle:
