the mech finally got around installing the hydraulic clutch. it needed some special jugaard as the oem handle also has the mirror screwed into it. but as most of the time he managed with some quite smart usage of parts available.

unfortunately this clutch has no future with me, the hand force is about 100% MORE so i have to ask, why bother? what is this contraption good for? planing to ask ONX that too.
This is from an older post of mine on this thread.

"Leverage is important here, we need to determine a couple of basics.
The Master cylinder is what you will pull with your hand and the Slave cylinder will react to the differences between the diameters of the 2 pistons sizes.
So if you have a small master cylinder it will enable more force to be applied but more movement to accomplish the action, a bigger Master cylinder will move the Slave faster but will require more force from the Hand squeezing the Clutch lever.

Personally I think the length of the Levers should be the critical consideration here.
Hydraulics is good but it is just a Lever and a small piston or a Big piston pushed by a small or big piston is the same as a SeeSaw ".

So far I have only been able to find 12 and 14 mm slave Cylinders, this one can be had with a 16mm diameter but note it has but 15mm travel.
That is the trade off with Levers even Hydraulic levers. Screenshot_20230223_191859_com.alibaba.aliexpresshd.jpg

Until I looked some more
Wow 19mm, and the price, wow alsoScreenshot_20230223_192451_com.alibaba.aliexpresshd.jpg

Is 15mm of travel going to be enough? It probably is but I'm not sure...

I'll measure it, doesent seem much, I am thinking of another solution to Sam's concern.
Mechanical

The Clutch Travel on my 500 is about 12mm or less, I have just ordered a Hydraulic Clutch Master Cylinder with a 12.7mm piston, not Radial but Gold and with a Lock!
I have a Slave Cylinders of 14 and 16mm coming also, this way I get an Advantage, I have also been working on a Mechanical solution that is just an Extension to the Arm that the Cable pulls, more on that later.Screenshot_20230304_232428_com.alibaba.aliexpresshd.jpg

Parts arrived today for the Hydraulic Clutch
Hose has a straight and 2 angled ends kit came with the master cylinder hose and 14mm slave

Why the Italian flag though? 🤦‍♂️

colors are nice, so much is certain ;)
As smart as I think I am , I just realized it does not have provision for a 10mm Mirror just a extremely weak looking 8mm adaptor16790226354177227310770406458191.jpg and it requires removal of the Hand grip ( which in my case has been cut before and taped up) and of course Barkbusta must be half removed also, too smart I'm not!

But you gotta Love the Colour

As the New Clutch Master Cylinder comes with a "not so useful" Mirror Mount, I did this, the Ally bracket is from a cheap set of Bark Busters just needed to cut a 10mm thread in what was 8mm and was not going to be used anyhow, now it is a Mirror mount that Lifts the Mirror Higher giving me a better Veiw ( that's the preferred outcome anyhow), I will start on the Hyd Clutch mod shortly and see what happens :geek: 16790628561986348047224110475055.jpg16790628740261147022910166847477.jpg

So I am sure I have a Black one as well, think it is 12.7mm, I have found on Ali but not yet bought a 19mm slave.
Should have enough to do the Experiment ;)

The Slave cylinder has a Pull rod that goes thru the piston and is anchored at the front, problem is that it is too long.
It is 2.5mm and has a Rolled Thread like a Spoke so that end is not getting modified.
Other end is a Screw head, I will need to cut that end and weld a Blob on.

Pull Rod cut to size and a "Blob" welded, all fitted but not Primed nor Bled ( Brake fluid is not nice to work with ), the hose I used is 1 metre, I tried 1.1 ( and have 1.2 just in case I fit Ape Hanger Bars :) ), I ran the Hose down the Left side and then followed the Oil Pipe from the cooler to keep it away from the Exhaust.Screenshot_20230318_231023_com.android.gallery3d.jpgScreenshot_20230318_231134_com.android.gallery3d.jpg

Must be getting worse with age, the Mirror mount which I thought was 5mm and 8mm is actually 6mm and 10mm so the Himma gets its mirror back.
Not overly confident as it all hangs on a 6mm bolt, worse things could happen than. losing a mirror  :giggle:
