Next week will be a run with stock cam.

You may have heard of the 462 kit, sold/developed by HMC.

Say anything bad about it and expect to be shot down in flames ( I have previously posted pics of their failed pistons on another forum and it was like adding a Fox to the Chicken house) :ROFLMAO: .

Yesterday I was offered a failed 462cc kit that was about to be thrown away because the liner had "slipped" down about 1mm causing the Head Gasket to blow.
As I have plenty of liners( and was on my Bike and not able to carry it home) I just took the Omega 82.6mm forged piston;)

The Dealer involved has sworn to never use them again as it is the 3rd failure he has had, you can imagine it is a costly venture, both in money and time.

Now, I am no expert but I know enough to have an opinion and I shall share it here where I do not expect to be in the firing line:)

If you look at the 462cc kit without the barrel you will see this,

Ok, so it doesn't mean much to the masses, but look about half way up and you notice a "ridge/lip" whatever you call it.
Ever wonder what it is for?
Look at this pic of a liner and see if it becomes clearer.

This is a longer liner ( than what HT uses but "you get the picture" like what
is that thing at the top?)

This is where I get to the point ;) (well almost!)

The " thing at the top" is what secures the liner as its bigger than the head so it can't go up and the way the Barrel is bored to accommodate this ridge, it can't go down( unless the barrel is not bored correctly!)
Now look at the first pic and think what stops the liner from going up?
Ill tell you, the Barrel.
Obviously not the Head:)
Now, what stops it going downwards?
The crankcase opening you may think.
So presumably the case opening is almost the same size as the OD of the liner and the "ridge" can not go down as a result because it is bigger.

WRONG:oops:
It is not that tight and was not designed to secure the liner.

What does all this mean?
And WTF does it have to do with this thread about my Bullet?

Well I don't have a LS410 (Real Himalayan), but I do have a J series with a Stroke of 85.8mm, so what is my Next Build?

You Guessed it, a 460 Bullet😁

It will be interesting to see if the stock ECU can still manage that. my guess is no (not based on anything, just a wild guess)

No problems expected, I have a PT4 and a Fx pro + .
A Good Deal from You! 😁

20260302_172037.jpgthis is where I am at with a Screen, not finished as it could do with some braces coming off the Handlebars a job for tomorrow. It is 4.5mm thick Perspex/Acrylic.

This was the shortest version made from 3mm Perspex, it kept the wind off the upper body but not the helmet.

Bit higher but the noise of the wind hitting the helmet was too much of a distraction.
First test of the tall screen only to 100kph, the extra load on the bike is noticeable and so is the noise, its a "trade off"

Solid as a rock! Makes the ride different, engine noise can be heard ;)

Never quite finished!
So i got this little screen topper from aliexpress, cut down the screen in height about 45mm and lopped off the lower section.
Now I can have the height I had determined to be about right and the option of going a bit higher if required.
Test at 100kph indicates a significant drop in helmet noise so I am confident.
Not that I like the look of tall screens but wanting to be able sustain cruising for a few hours at a time it is this or Cafe style and I'm too old for that!
Noticeable is the extra weight on the front wheel, air hitting the screen and creating downforce as opposed to hitting me and being transmitted by my butt to the rear wheel so I have added extra psi to the front tyre;)
