Has there been any development since?A quick update: Kickstarter shaft has arrived and it looks promising. I also receceived seals for the clutch cover. Next step is modifying the clutch cover to accept the shaft and seal.

available - yes, I ordered one and got it. BUT they are not cheap. I think once we go "mainstream" the package should include detailed instructions how to machine the existing cover rather than buy a new one. If the construction fails at one point it is easy enough to close the hole in the cover by either a big screw or welding it or any other method that fits the bill. Are Side covers available Sam? they would need to be a part of the Kit.
around 80 euro plus shipping and customs - in the west likely double thatHow Cheap is Not Cheap?
Just to be clear: I estimate the first prototype to be around 500 usd in material/work cost. For a (small) production batch this could be easily cheaper (certainly if outsourced in China etc.)Well I've been working on my "big radiator with fan" kit, but I'm almost on the verge of shelving the project (after my one off) because of final price of the kit.
Among big radiator, fan, switch, hooses with fittings and custom made aluminium bracket (made in China on my design), the bare costs are already rocketing to 240/250€ (280$). To justify all this I'd need to sell it to 450$ minimum (considering a small production batch of at least 20units...) which is an insane price for the average Joe to shell out...
Not to be a party pooper here, but 500$ + sourcing and machining a side cover (easily other 150$ among part and work) for what is mostly a gimmick (with some limited use I reckon) I think is way too much.
@barima have you tried to send your parts design to China and have them quoted?
I don't think it's going to be needed, only thing that holds me back is to source (and precisely machine) a side cover...I will do it if I don't need to remove the Engine from the Frame![]()
Precisely, where is the Fun in that?I don't think it's going to be needed, only thing that holds me back is to source (and precisely machine) a side cover...
NEIN!Precisely, where is the Fun in that?
A Cordless Drill a Hole saw and a File ( Rats Tail of course! ) as long as it holds Oil! I wasn't going to Kick Start the motorcycle with it! ( it's got an Electric Start Function!)
It's Just for Bragging Rights.
If your look just above the Right Foot peg you will "Source" the side cover![]()

I guess there will be a huge demand for this, so i will also develop a limited "bragging rights" edition kickstarter kitPrecisely, where is the Fun in that?
