Fig Jam 477cc ;)

This is what we want to see when we set up a Cam, the Marks in line with the Case at TDC is it Not?

And we set the Engine at TDC, well we Try!, trouble is that we have to look at the Timing mark and make the determination for that, unless you look for Actual TDC .

Which needs to be done like this because,,

The Timing mark is not accurate, well mine is now.

I think. But what to do about adjusting this? I havent worked that out yet;)

When replacing the Head Bolts it is advisable to clean the case where the threads are, right hand side has a tendency to fill with oil and can cause problems when tensioning the Head

I forgot to do this when the Barrel was off but luckily I have this Vacuum Oil remover, a Sucker it is!

Going back together, the Worlds Fastest Indian ( made Himalayan ) is being reborn smaller and weaker than before so as to give you others a chance to catch up :giggle:
So, Stock Head ( head number 5 !) 83.5mm piston, new Dowels and exhaust gasket, Modified Head gasket

Stock Throttle Body, stock engine Pipe with Cat but slip on Muffler.
All this for Science, I know how to make them go fast but We would like them to sell fast as well:cool:

When replacing a Cam, the Cam Cover has been removed and there is good chance Oil has filled at least one hole it should not have.
From the Top "Siera Vista"? the cam is held mainly by 6 bolts top right and bottom right are the most likely to get filled, they are blind drilled so oil gets in and when the Bolt get replaced it becomes a piston trying to compress the Oil in the hole, okay a bit like a shock absorber it leaks that oil past the threads and slows down the process. But you need to get it out with paper towel strips or air pressure/Brake cleaner plug Goggles;), the 2 on the other side dont get filled with oil but I have still managed to strip them so take this with a Pinch of Salt!
The Factory Sealant needs to be completely removed and care taken around the Threads, I knife is needed to cut out the grey crap that gets too close to the threads,

New Air Box, just gotta use the sauce first.
This plastic is strong and malleable and was going into Land Fill so that's how GREEN I am :cool:IMG_20230419_205945.jpgIMG_20230419_205957.jpg

Engine is Up and Running, runs very well, not Bolts were stripped in the process(y)

Start up unlike with the Stage 2 was quiet, even quieter when I installed the Cam chain tensioner, idle was smoother when I realized I hadnt plugged the PAV tube on the Inlet manifold adaptor.

Will see tomorrow when it hits the Hwy but first impressions are that this will be a good build and show it on the Dyno.
