Often when the fuel pump remains silent it is one of the two relays involved. If that is NOT the case the exchange can be quite expensive, a new OEM fuel pump assy is in the range of 14,000 INR or 160 Euro in INDIA, probably twice as much in the west,
However we offer the MOTOR for just 28.- Euro and that is most likely the part that needs replacing:

Haran Fuel Pump Motor Compatible for Yamaha FZ v1 & v2/Bullet Bs4/Himalayan/Aprilia

Pictures of Products do not always represent actual products. As does this link for me in My Region.

Inlet looks the same as one I have at hand, But the Outlet although a bit blurred ( not as bad as a Japanese porno ) is Too Long

Here are a few pics from the pump I got: btw: I have no idea what the white pouch is for.

The outlet looks to be longer than mine, I would be pretty confident that it could be cut down to size, but that pic is Blurry.

Hey.
Not too relevant to the Internal Workings, but this still might be a good place to drop this idea, being Fuel Pump related and all...
A knuckleheaded 'mechanic' (term used loosely) snapped off the Feed Nipple on my Fuel Pump. While up in Manali I happened to see a few of these Himalayan FP repairs done at a friends Bike Rental biz, so I guess it's kinda common, but anyway I got the address of the shop that fixes them in Delhi and had mine fixed. Nice job. About Rupees 900 or usd$11. Get ahold of PK @ +91 98715 35076

Bob, welcome Back! after hearing of your Injector Problem ( and other Problems ! ) I wonder about the Mechanics in India;)
Probably not much money is spent on Training them. A pity because that is all that is required, the aptitude is there.
So now that your 500 is running thanks to @Sasa and the RB , how good is it ?

You dont know the half of it😂
But then again you get what u pay 4

Training? Ya right...
The 500 is running very well now, thanks for asking. The only thing keeping me from getting my long awaited Dyno completed is that I'm not happy with my CAM. I'm currently running the 1st iteration of the ONX because of it having a Decompressor, and as often as I've been Trying to start my bike lately, I'm glad that it was in it vs the 'b' Cam w/o a decompressor. However... it just doesn't have the Punch now, and the power resides above 5000rpm, so I wanna switch back to the b Cam before the dyno. Just giving it a little more time before doing so, but pretty soon I hope.
Bob
PS: I tried posting this for a full day, unsuccessfully, until I disconnected my VPN. OK, now I get the secret, as I've been struggling to connect here for several months now.

So the Avatar is coming ?
Bob what map are you using ( and is it loaded properly etc ) My 477 runs well and in the right AFR range, yours is Bigger, needs more fuel..

The Map I'm running is a Sasa Special. It's a bit of a customized V5. I believe that it's loaded properly, as if it wasn't there would be more indicators...

I think that I may have given the wrong impression of the way that my bike is running.

It's like this; I've experienced a Hooligan Mode/Map on this bikes current configuration, and it was a HOOT. I 'think' that was either Map 4 or 4.4, and God only knows which Tab. Granted that particular Map was pretty rough around the edges and didn't perform well in other areas like low/mid throttle, but it was real edgy! That gave me a clue what the engine 'could be'; I know that there is a Lion that lies in there somewhere, but what I don't know is whether that Lion would devour my engine in the long run. Probably. Anyhu it's with that experience that I'm evaluating what I'm running now, and maybe that's unfair or unrealistic, but I think Sasa can address this.

My gut tells me that nobodies gonna have any real answers on this matter until I get a dyno done.
(I've sent 2 Cams down to Nisar. Let's see what I get back!?).
Bob

Hey @RCruiser I saved the best bit for Last, so that we can feel comfortable with your 33.6 sumthing RWHP at the Dyno next Year, you will need to dyno a Stock bike on the Dyno to set a Datum pont there.

Alternatively, you put your Bike back to stock and Dyno that , your choice Buddy :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Bob,

your perception is right, V4 was rougher (map2 that was or map1), however the latest V5 you got has the same or greater power BUT it has been smoothed out consistently, so you perceive the POWA less, lacking that former "edgyness", but trust me it's there! :)

Anyhow, even if I sent you a revised version of V5 (that should take in account for the bigger piston, etc..) we'll have definitive information only after your dyno session (AFR and power curve needed). With that we can properly tune the map for you! :)

today was the day. fuel pump defective in the middle of worst weekend traffic. I got the BS6 pushed home and my mechanic exchanged the Haran motor - apparently a perfect fit. even the fuel filter. so this is a valid replacement (if the quality holds but then again the stock had under 8000km before it failed!!)

I think I located the factory that makes these motors in India. I may just add them to the HT shop and take a bit of Amazon's profit away LOL.
My mechanic says these fail all the time so it may be worth having one in stock - just in case. btw: dealership had zero stock - fuel pumps or motors and the pump now goes for something like 14.000 INR.

Only motor
Who is going to have the nerve of taking the fuel pump apart and then ride the bike with complete trust in it?

I bet only a handful of people.

If you can get a complete unit that would be better.

My 2 cents.

actually I was standing next to it when my mechanic did it. I could have done it myself - in less than 10 minutes. I should have filmed it and will if I decide to offer the pump motor as spare.

The rest of the pump is just a plastic housing, unless you break it when mounting it its pretty much lasting forever.
