Did you remove the Lextech coupler and re weld a larger tube in the end can to fit the bigger diameter of the down pipe? Would this would only benefit on the dyno, when you remove the restrictive tube of the baffle?I use a lextec slipped over a Delkovik Header with the reduced section of the header pipe removed, no back firing because it is Fueled correctly.
Its all about the mixture, reducing backpressure increases flow and without extra fuel it runs lean and backfires when you roll back the Throttle.
No Cat but I keep the baffle in except on the Dyno, it is removed to install the O2 sniffer.
Hi Dool Did you modify your Lextec can? My internal can pipe internal diameter is only 37.1mm measured inside behind the clamp section, down pipe external diameter is 44.5mm. Or do you have a can not made for the Himi? Sorry about all the questionsThe Lextec was 52mm so it is actually larger diameter than the header before the reduction where the muffler normally mounts.
I cut about 80mm off the end of the Header.
I dont like it without the baffle.
Seemed the over size pipe turned out in your favour after all.I think it fair to say that I was taken for a ride at the bike shop.
The muffler has a 52mm inlet and to make it fit they had used an adapter that went from the reduced size at the end of header up to 52mm.
Made it longer and looked like shite which prompted me to find the Delkovik header, it too has the reduced end so as to fit the OEM muffler.
OD of the Delkovik is a bit under 52mm.
