16% does not seem much - how much does BREMBO cost?
Have you tried the Yamaha sintered pads that fit the OEM caliper? that gives a tangible increase in breaking power already and is cheaper than the OEM pads from RE.

I found one source for 470 euro plus VAT and duty so like 600 euro. that seems a bit stiff for a 16% increase.

Did you ever try the Yamaha pads I sent you? what % improvement do you estimate they provide?

They are definitely an improvement but the math on the larger pistons is undeniably superior.
Together the combination would be worthwhile, having said that I do not know the cost of the calliper!
