Here we post the latest updates.
Check the day you order - if it is "on the way" additional tariffs will NOT apply retroactively (from day of shipping).

Currently India Post charges a minimum of 4500 INR ( ca. 40 Euro) for anything that is commercially sent to USA. Even if you just order a cheap gasket set I will have to charge you this exorbitant shipping. I can not send anything as a gift and use a company address as sender. Likewise I can not send anything that is a commercial product as private person (you need an export license for that and it has to be stated on the package). For the more expensive parts like the BB kits it does not matter because they anyway cost around 50 Euros shipping to USA but small stuff has become very expensive to ship. One way out would be to gather multiple items in one order that make the shipping costs worthwhile.

Here is the breakdown for motorcycle cylinders (HS 8409.91):

1. The Good News: The Base Duty is 0%

Under the February 2, 2026, India-US Interim Trade Deal, the US officially moved many Indian auto components to the "Preferential Quota" list.

  • Status: If your shipment is within India's quarterly quota for automotive parts, the General Rate of Duty is indeed 0%.
  • Requirement: Your importer must specify that the goods are part of the "India-US Preferential TRQ" (Tariff-Rate Quota).

2. The Bad News: The "Invisible" Surcharges

Even if your base tariff is 0%, other tax is likely being added at the border today:

  • The "Reciprocal" 10% Surcharge: On April 1, 2026, a new "Temporary Import Duty" of 10% was applied to all goods entering the US to counter global trade imbalances. This is an additional tax, so your 0% becomes 10%.
  • Section 232 Metal Surcharge (25%): This is the one to watch. Effective tomorrow (April 6, 2026), any engine parts containing significant steel or aluminum (like a cylinder) face a 25% levy.
  • The "Use" Exemption: There is a specific loophole! According to the latest White House proclamation (Annex I-B), motorcycle parts in Chapter 84 shall not be subject to Section 232 tariffs if they are imported exclusively for use in the manufacturing of motorcycles.

so long story short, as of today 05-04-2026 the tax you pay is 10%
