Hello all,
I was looking at a Scram for my first "big" bike after passing my motorcycle test last year (unfortunately the Scram 440 never came
). In the end I got a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 which was a natural upgrade from the Svartpilen 125 I started on.
I've ended up trading in my Yamaha XT250 Serrow which I used through this winter (kinda wasted as a commuter bike, and more difficult to insure) for a second hand 2022 Scram 411, and got more than I bargained for, both in good and bad ways.
I knew the bike had a Black Widow free flow exhaust muffler, but it turns out this bike also has a Tec Cam fitted, as well as a Fuel X lite, DNA air filter and a 15 tooth front sprocket (also it has an illegal reg plate which was covered up in the photos lol). On the one hand I am happy I have all these upgrades for free, but on the other the first MOT is due by the middle of May this year, so I need to get this bike legal.
My main concern is the stock rear muffler which does have a Cat converter in it (if I have done my research right). There are a few second hand exhausts floating around but most are for the Euro 4 Himi (576143 part no.). There are a couple of Euro V Scram full system exhausts second hand which I could get, but there is also just the Euro V Himi Mufflers for cheaper. The Himi and Scram Euro V exhausts look identical (except the heat shield is usually black on the Scram, while silver on the Himi) but they have different part numbers: RLX 00883 for the Himi, and RLX 01188 for the Scram.
Given they have the same powertrain and emissions, should the the Himi muffler work fine on the Scram? Also would the Fuel X Lite be an issue for emissions?
Many thanks.
