Back from the test run:
Bike ran well, not very well as I am used to from the 500 with PT and performance cam but well enough, certainly stronger than the 411.
Some problems though.
During the extended test run (80km) I had to stop at train crossings and other places where I needed to cut the engine. It was often necessary to repeat the starting procedure multiple times before the engine came on. After a while I figured out a trick, on/off 3-4 times the cut-off switch and starting worked like a charm. Reason being each time the fuel pump starts it injects fuel for a second into the TB. It shows that the engine was starved of fuel.
Running thru the gears felt like the engine did not get quite what it needed. a certain reluctance at almost all rpm.
Keep in mind this is comparison to a 500cc with well tuned PT and fuelx pro and cam and decat exhaust. but still.
If I where to take this further (which I wont) I would get the KENT cam (better than ours but also way more expensive) to allow for more fuel (higher lift and longer duration) and possibly reduce to 477cc (from 500). More displacement is only good if the overall tuning is done well. With 500cc it seems the 440 ECU is a bit out of its league - 477 only is 37cc more - 500 is 60. That could make a big difference.
I would also try to fix the engine light issue - starting with a new o2 sensor (I asked my dealer but no stock ...)
I played with the Fuelx Pro. it is the "wrong one" not optimized for the 440 ECU but for the 410 ECU. I do not know how much of a difference it makes but Racedynamics support told me "big difference". Maybe they are honest, maybe they just wanted to sell another gimmick.
There seems no big difference from 7 upwards. I ran it in 7,8 and 10, did not feel any difference. But without it the engine runs clearly worse.
Now, they say the ECU "learns" and this is true for the TB/ECU as well as the Fuelx. Especially the fuelx uses this as their main selling point. So if I drove the bike for a longer time thing may smooth out.
Now the ball is in @
brotherpaul1911 court and I am very curious what his experience will be.
