Helping the 411 Hima and Scram to brake even :-)

I have done some very rough measurements and it seems the caliper of the 440 can be adapted to fit the 411, I have ordered a sample piece and in 2-3 weeks we will know for sure. That thing would then cost around 80 euros and would 100% solve all front brake problems, even with cheap organic pads and also for the 477 and 500 versions. Remember that we paid 700 Euros for our conversion to Brembo which is not much better than the 440 brake.
Personally for all of my Himas the front bake was the issue to be solves first (second the seat). From what I have read so far ppl are happy with expensive 3rd party pads and I have tried them also but wasn't convinced. Well, that was after the BB conversion when I really needed brake power.

to be continued ...

I have already done this 440 caliper on my himi last month. unfortunately, I just got like 100km testing done and then my linkage gave out so can't test it further, but initial impression is that it doesn't feel drastically different, but could be due to the fact that earlier I had ceramic pad on stock caliper, now its organic, also i think i might have not done breaking bleeding properly.

well, considering I had 5 Himas and all had lousy stock brakes (until I changed them) I think I can judge the improvement with the 440 brake.
I do not know if the stock pads are organic, if they are they are very good.
The only reason why there could be a smaller than anticipated positive effect would be that the disc is not the same - although I was told it is.
In any case - you say it is a fit, which was the main issue I wanted to figure out. I will update here as soon as I get a chance to fit mine to a Hima or 411 scram.

yes they are organic on both 440 as well as 411, and the disc is the same too. I'm 90% sure that the difference is due to the fact that i was using ceramic break pads before that's why i didn't feel much of a difference on organic break pads with 440 caliper. So technically 411 stock caliper, ceramic pad = 440 caliper with organic pads. I'm pretty sure that this will improve further with ceramic break pads

Even in India the 440 is a rare bird, I will have to do some research if other models use the same caliper as is often the case with bikes made in India. E.g. the Yamaha FZ16/FZS uses the same caliper as the 411 Hima but their pads are way better (and cheaper).
