Getting a tacho on the Meteor (or Hunter I guess)

I have ordered a high quality tacho from Germany for 140 Euro incl. shipping which had been successfully installed on a SCRAM (by some German guy) so I hope to be able to get it to run on my Meteor as well. I will update here once its released to us from customs in Delhi.

but I am a bit surprised that after scanning Aliexpress for a good hour I could only find extremely cheap and useless (I tested them) tachos for under 10 bucks a piece and some electronic gadgets that look awful on a bike. Why cant they make a decent tacho for maybe 50 bucks to replace that cut throat pricing Velona Daytona throws at us? it should be possible. But they only offer cheap junk.

Yes, I know, @Dool has one, but thats even more expensive than the Daytona

Yes the available units are either very expensive or pretty useless.
