I am selling one extra kit of 440 gear parts. It is not complete, some add, parts may be needed to do a full conversion.
Because of that the part combo I sell is very cheap: only 100 euro plus shipping. if someone wants to figure out what is needed for a full conversion when buying this kit I can supply a parts list along with it (not separately, only with the kit). I will be helping to source the missing parts if needed.
This is the kit:

Hello Sam, honestly I missed this post, so you did well mentioning in the sixth gear conversion thread.

I am very interested and the price is fair, but I need more info. It would be helpful for me to understand:

1) Can you tell how many other parts one should buy in order to do a full conversion?
2) In other words, how much one should expect to spend (average range) in addition to complete the set of parts required?
3) Does this kit already include shaft, counter-shaft and gear drum?
4) Is a 440 left side engine cover required? I believe this would be the most expensive part if so.
5) What would you think would be the time required (average again) if you should get for me the missing parts from RE?
6) Do you ship within the EU or should I expect import additional duties?
7) (BONUS) Did you already do the job before? I mean, did you already convert a 411 to six speed successfully?

Let me be absolutely clear here: I would very need your help to get the parts to complete the set after this sale. Not to mention your general experience and understanding of how the job should be done. I would end up being lost otherwise, with a partial set of spares it would be very difficult for me to complete even with the help of local RE dealers.

So your word of being able to get access to the missing parts at a certain price for me would mean a lot, in fact is the most important thing I would be buying at this stage :D

I have zero understanding how the job is done, I have a 440 scram. I also have no idea what is missing and how much the missing parts would cost. There is a risk for you to not get it all but given enough time it may be small. Ask the ppl who do the conversion, you can see the part no. In the photo so it should be easy to figure out what is missing.
I will order the missing parts but it is not certain that I will get them or when. Expect at least 200 EUR on top of this.

Why do you feel the set of parts is uncomplete then?
Anyway, clear enough. I will then wait in the hope some folks doing conversions post a tutorial somewhere online, so that I can understand the parts required. Let's catch up again later on. Many thanks for now.

are u planning to install slipper clutch as well?

There are a lot of different scenario's for the 6-speed conversion.

I think Soba is doing the safest/easiest/most expensive route by doing a full gearbox+clutch+sidecover swap. My best educated guess is that this will be plug and play. This is 99% sure the conversions you have seen so far (maybe without the clutch cover)

I will be retaining the original clutch and sidecover since i want to keep my kickstart. This means i will have to figure out a hybrid (meaning swapping the 6th gear sprockets onto the 5-speed shafts).

The gear set from Sam lacks only the shift shaft assembly. At this moment i cannot confirm if it is definately required for the swap or that you can also use the 5 speed shaft.

I suggest you pick up the set from Sam and wait a bit till i have figured it out. You at least will have most of the parts already and can contemplate if you want to do clutch and sidecover as well.

Thank you all, I like what's happening here and I am growing confident that together we will sort things out!

are u planning to install slipper clutch as well?
No, unless strictly necessary for the conversion. I never had the rear wheel lock up on downshifts, so I don't see the point of a slipper clutch on such a tame engine.

I'd prefer to keep them too, just because apparently sounds cheaper and easier to my unexperienced ears. Maybe is the opposite, as you mentioned about Soba.

That's what I needed to hear, thank you for checking out the parts number for me.

Fine to me, @sam2019 do you ship this part set within the EU?

@Shere Khan well in theory you just need the gear assembly and shifter drum and few spacers, for 6 gear upgrade, u can skip shifter shaft and star index coz even the existing one is 6th gear compatible.

@barima the problem is the teeth setup on the pull rod on the clutch casing if you can swap those internal you can use the original case. Not sure but IMO with a little modification to that part it is doable.

parts no. for 6 speed conversion.

Gear Shift Drum- RLL00175/D
Main Gear Assembly - RLL00235/B
Counter shaft - RLL00237/B
Star index - RLL00209/B

Super!

I would be apparently missing main gear assembly in sam parts set:

Gear Shift Drum- RLL00175/D ✅
Main Gear Assembly - RLL00235/B ❌
Counter shaft - RLL00237/B ✅
Star index - RLL00209/B ✅

Not a deal breaker for me, but that's should be back ordered.

Yeah, i just found out that the 5-speed star index and shiftshaft assembly will problably fit (and work) to the 6 speed shiftdrum. The star index has been redesigned though so shifting might be improved/smoother. I recommend changing it when already having disassembled the engine for the conversion.

Yes, the clutch of the 6 speed is probably smaller because the kickstart gear in the back is removed (i presume). Thats why the input shaft is also much shorter. The pushrod in the clutch cover has probably a different length but that should indeed be a small modification.

ofcourse i keep forgetting that clutch housing gear for kick start, i had an argument with my mechanic over it he kept insisting that a spacer would be needed to fill that gap. I m guessing you will be using the 411 clutch housing to keep the kick start, keep us posted regarding the modification you will do to the casing. best of luck
