Out the door heading south ...

Getting to 33C today, time to head north soon. I choose the route via Mahabaleshwar thru the mountains and not the boring highway.

even the beach is kinda empty (for Arambol) in the scorching heat and the ocean is more like a bathtub

The guy who runs the local coffee shop is a genuine artist.

Tuesday will be my last day in Arambol, trip to Pune is already booked, will be staying 5 days in Pune, mainly for sentimental reasons, after all I spent much of the 80s there.
But then the question is: drive home, 2000km over mostly boring highways where one could not take the eyes off the road (not that much is there in terms of visuals) because of crazy traffic, or have the bike moved by courier again, flying home. The costs are nearly identical.
decisions, decisions ....

Another day, another Starbucks. On my way to Pune. Got going at 6.30 but roads where much better than expected, so arrived early at my midway stop .
Very nice hotel with a pool for 25 euro a night, try that in the west😍

Very nice hotel here in the mountains of Mahabaleshwar, the only thing I did not take into account, while its 33C days, its 14C nights and the pool of the hotel, looking so inviting, is actually an ICEBOX. I tried it anyway but man, what a difference to the piss warm Indian ocean.

Reached my last station, Pune, mainly for reminiscing about the 80s when I lived there.
Poona has become a modern moloch. Nothing I liked about it remained. The Osho ashram has become a wasteland of pseudo esoteric nonsense packaged for the gullible newager. The only good item I hoped to find was the pool, and they squandered even that. I am wasting 5 days in a city that has definitely gone the wrong direction (but then again, which one hasnt). I did find a few gems from old days, a bookshop I frequented, still run by a bunch of old ladies, astonishingly a movie theater that is still in operation - and not only that, people where lining up at the box office in the middle of a workday.
There was an entire film crew next door, another antique building, and from what I could see they where making one of those cookie cutter dramas, where some bad guy shoots some good guy, then a bunch of people dance, then another good guy shoots the bad guy and finally more dancing. seen one, seen them all.

Do they still hand paint the Posters for the Movies?
I know the Movies you speak of, it is a different style of entertainment 😁

Packed and ready

Did they use a Ramp or lift?

No doubt the cheapest option :ROFLMAO:
And it works!

the final chapter, only one hand guard and the brake lever damaged. which is funny bc that guard should have protected the lever.
Not worth filing a claim.

It broke right where it was designed to break.
Now you can fit adjustable levers :)

Those are for a Classic,
Scram 440 would the same as the Himalayan?
I guess you would not want shorty style but all the cheap ones I bought were good ( except 1 pair that was wrong) never broke one anyway :)

the final chapter,
Not so final. I discovered more broken items. They must have smashed the front right side against something hard, the windshield broken, hand guard deformed !!! and brake lever broken. Some 5000 INR damage, not the end of the world. But still. They must have slipped when re-loading it with the "manpower" method they are using.
