Tripper background light is time sensitive

I just found out: it seems at 7am the tripper gets more intense background light which is reduced again at 7pm.
This "feature" is not at work in map mode (when tripper is used for navigation) but in clock mode or when the logo is showing.
It seems this is not on/off switchable.
