I do have voltmeters on all of my bikes, even the bullets with amp-meter because it can give me an idea of the state of the battery before i engage the starter.
I was however under the impression that 12V is still like half full which is wrong, it only indicates about 30% load and considering you should never go below 10% not to endanger the longevity of the battery its very close to needing an outside recharge if it does not start the engine on first try.
