1927 Windhoff 750 | Germany
🇩🇪

In 1927, two German engineers, Hans Windhoff and Josef Dauben, worked together to create a revolutionary motorbike that even today looks modern by today's standards. Their creation, known as the Windhoff 750, was the first four-cylinder motorbike in German history and remained the only one in Europe between 1927 and 1930.

This motorbike was powered by a 748cc inline four-cylinder engine and had an impressive power output. The Windhoff 750 weighed only 185 kilograms, but could easily reach speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour.

This was an impressive achievement at the time, and the motorbike immediately caught the attention of motorcyclists and motorists alike. Its 22 horsepower made it the most powerful motorbike of the 1927 season, and it rivalled models such as the Victoria 600 KR6 and BMW R47. However, in addition to its technical performance, the Windhoff was also notable for its cost. The production of this motorbike was a complex and demanding process, which was reflected in its price.

Unfortunately, the Windhoff 750, like many other motorbikes, fell victim to the Great Depression of 1929. Production of this model lasted only about 40 months, and it is known that only 1,450 motorbikes were produced between 1927 and 1931. However, only 20 examples of the Windhoff 750 have survived to this day, making them rare collector's items.
