Here we post the latest updates.
Check the day you order - if it is "on the way" additional tariffs will NOT apply retroactively (from day of shipping).

Currently India Post charges a minimum of 4500 INR ( ca. 40 Euro) for anything that is commercially sent to USA. Even if you just order a cheap gasket set I will have to charge you this exorbitant shipping. I can not send anything as a gift and use a company address as sender. Likewise I can not send anything that is a commercial product as private person (you need an export license for that and it has to be stated on the package). For the more expensive parts like the BB kits it does not matter because they anyway cost around 50 Euros shipping to USA but small stuff has become very expensive to ship. One way out would be to gather multiple items in one order that make the shipping costs worthwhile.

My best estimate for today (April 21, 2026), HS 8409.91.50.85, Indian origin cylinder/piston kit:

  • MFN base duty: 2.5%
  • Section 122 reciprocal tariff (India): 10% (through ~July 24, 2026)
  • Section 232 auto parts: likely 0% for motorcycle-specific cylinders, but verify
  • Total estimated: ~12.5% ad valorem

And more news:
since today the Indian post office charges whatever taxes are levied directly when I hand them the parcel. It is now part of the shipping invoice. This must mean that customers in the US do not have to bother with paying any taxes but I have to figure out how to add them to the price of the product -and only for US customers-. It also shows on the receipt I get (as screenshot bc their printer doesnt work).
Here is a screenshot from today where I have sent a 410cc BB kit - its pretty bad quality but you can see the section DUTIES with 4874 Rupees to be paid. That is actually a little less than the 10% I would have expected (price for the kit was 49,492 INR at todays exchange rate)

I will work to find a solution for adding the tax directly to the price - dont know how yet but I dont want any surprises on the money front, not for you and not for me.

I managed to add a code snippet to the checkout logic that adds a defined percentage to every US order. currently it is set to 10% which I will adapt should new tariff rules take effect.
