Best himmy for big bore?

So may be jumping the gun a little here, seeing as i dont own a himmy yet, but should have one in the next month or so.

Id like to get one and do the upgrades, including the cam and the 477 big bore kit in time.

Been browsing the faqs and this forum. My question is; if i wanted to go down the cam and bogbore kit route, which would the best himmy version be. From what ive gathered, the euro 4 variant is preferred because you can replace the ecu with the red box. Is this correct? I know theres a thread detailing that one can now upgrade the euro 5 versions. Are there any downsides to upgrading the euro 5. Am i best sticking to a euro 4 version?

Thanks!

well, in britain you have an even better option. dont go for the red box, get the carby conversion kit from Hitchcocks. Its way easier to tune a carb than a racing ecu. Yes, in the top 5% the ecu may give you more options but here in india I always aim at the bs3 models that come with carb.
If you plan trip to the Himalayas a map for thin air is a good thing and in the carby you then have to change jets, but I guess the highest you get at home is not worth having a special map made for.
This only works for euro4 btw.
If you get a euro 5 you can grab the used PT4 I have for sale and safe some cash. but of course a piggyback ecu will never be as "influential" on the engine as a real ecu like the red box. you may then also need the fuelx pro (also on sale here).

Looks like circumstances (bikes near me) , might be picking up a euro 5. To clarify, it is still possible to do the big bore on the euro 5? Are there many downsides to the big bore on the euro 5. Im a way off doing these mods , just like the idea of doing the big bore conversion down the road.
